Regeneron was born in 1988 from a simple passion for science. The company was founded on the principle that strong science would lead to important new medicines. Almost twenty years later, that passion has become a successful biotech company with a very unique culture.
Regeneron is a select team of people who share a passion for science, love to be challenged, welcome new ideas and thrive on research, development and innovation. Those who make the biggest contributions have the greatest success--regardless of organizational charts or hierarchy. What matters at Regeneron is a passion for science and a drive to discover and develop new medicines.

Project Managers Roles
I hold a PhD in biochemistry/molecular biology with broad range of experiences in the pharma/biotech and various diseases areas but now wish to make a career transition out of the basic/bench research side.
Recently I realised that my background may be better fit with 'project management' roles. I know the term 'project management' is rather ambiguous but what I'm after is something still closely related to research in drug discovery/development including identifying new projects-research areas/budgeting/managing collaboration with external groups.
Although I have only started to pay attention to management roles that are advertised, most of them deal with clinical, sales/marketing/product development or regulatory affairs. While I only found a few roles that closely match my interest and most only require a minimum of BS degree with 3+ yrs of experience in the same field.
My questions are:
(1) Is the market for research oriented project management role quite limited?
(2) Would a PhD holder be more at a disadvantage for these type of roles? Also what type of extra skills should one take to get a competitive edge...e.g. business/ project management certification?
