53rd Annual Meeting for the Western Pharmacology Society

The Western Pharmacology Society (WPS) and the Mexican Pharmacology Association (AMEFAR) will have a joint meeting at the Catamaran Resort in San Diego, February 7th through the 10th, 2010. Non-member scientists, clinicians, industry and biotech representatives, and vendors are encouraged to attend this intimate gathering that promises to be extremely welcoming and informative. Our meeting will begin Sunday evening, February 7th, with a lecture by Nobel Laureate Roger Tsien from UCSD. The closing speaker on February 10th will be the medical director of J&J, Dr. Diego Miralles. The meeting will feature many local luminaries. Scientific symposia will include: * novel peptide-based therapeutic strategies * frontiers in cardiovascular pharmacology * novel drugs and the surgical cure of diabetes * a new paradigm for clinical trials between the U.S. and Mexico * pharmaco-vigilance * novel sources and approaches for the discovery of bioactive natural products, * bioinformatics in drug development and therapeutics. Each day concludes with a poster session, vendor fair, and happy hour.
